Lunch with Steph.
We’re just getting back from our Easter break. A nice rest for us all after quite a busy weekend beforehand.
We hosted a small intimate book launch on the 9th of April - The launch of Stephanie Alexander’s new book - “Home”.
For us, this was a huge deal as Stephanie dined with us as well as her fans.
Stephanie enjoyed the food and drink we gave her but hilariously told all the guests that she doesn’t at all like small bits of food and plates designed to share - we weren’t offended, if anything we enjoyed the honesty.
Ideas.
It All Starts With An Idea. Not Necessarily A Good Idea But It Always Starts With An Idea.
For Us The Idea Started With A Space - The Midland Private Hotel. An 1870’S Hotel That Had A 1930’S Art Devo Renovation.
We Were Offered The Space In June Of 2020 - Mid Pandemic. We Said Yes Straight Away And Thought Up The Rest After That.
The Next Idea Was Sustainability. Not Just As Far As Produce But In Terms Of Sustainably Operating A Hospitality Business - Something Relatively Unheard Of.
We Wanted To Do Something Really Good But Survive Doing It And Help In Our Part The Planet Survive Us Doing It.
These Are The Ideas That Hatched Bar Midland.
